Thank you for your reply. That is an excellent white paper on TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) and ITIL. I highly recommend it.

I think the export of a planned architecture change can be incorporated in BMC Atrium CMDB by using a "sandbox" dataset. This allows a future state model to be analyzed in a pseudo-production configuration for capacity planning and impact simulation.
