Lots happening with CMDB Federation committee

Sorry I haven't blogged much on the CMDB Federation committee work.  I would like to, but the consortium agreement restricts what I can say about our work, until we submit a committee draft to a standards body.  I don't even think I can say which standards organization we have picked for the committee draft, but at least I can say that we have selected one!

Additionally, I can tell you that committee activity has greatly increased in the last couple of months, based on the number of emails that we are exchanging.  We have schemas and WSDLs going back and forth amongst the committee members, and we're making good progress on our first "interop" meeting, where we will prove that our implementations can federate together.

Sorry I can't say more - I think we will unveil a little more information after our interop meeting is complete.  If this meeting goes as planned, it will be hard to contain our enthusiasm, so I would expect the committee to agree on releasing some type of progress report on http://cmdbf.org.

There is another blog that sometimes mentions the CMDB Federation consortium: http://stage.vambenepe.com/

This is William Vambenepe's blog, which covers a range of issues on XML standards. Check it out - it may provide you with more perspective!
