CMDBF Interop Shows Promising Results

We had our first cross-company interop test of the CMDBF specification (emerging though it is).  We intentionally limited our test to the subset of the specification that we felt was reasonably complete.  The results were quite impressive.  I can't divulge details of who did what, but the consortium members were able to successfully combine configuration information in a pre-agreed format using a common query implementation.

Effectively all participants were able to connect to each other's web services and pull (or push) meaningful data to the other participants' web services using a defined set of interfaces.

Now that this important step is done, the consortium will complete the draft specification, incorporating features frozen out of the interop session and lessons learned from the tests.  The plan going forward is fairly aggressive, so expect to see more soon!
