What is IT and Where Is It Heading?
I always used to wonder about this eye-catching phrase – when a product is “improved” from its earlier version/shape, how could it be called as “new” all over! But, I had to accept it, when we peeped into the Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) 2007.
As per the release notes, its previous version was Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005. We used one of the published interfaces to work with MOM 2005, which was stated as a standard interface to remain consistent across versions, as per documentation. To our unpleasant surprise, it’s knocked off from SCOM 2007! Now, we’re in a dilemma about what to do with our existing integration work & what is the game plan to integrate with SCOM 2007!
Yep…only Microsoft could come up with SCOM 2007 as an “improved” Operations Manager, but altogether a “new” product…including UI & programmatic interfacing techniques!

Hopefully, this blogging event will break my inertia to flush the content to online, as I stopped updating my personal website few years ago. I’d like to present some of my initial understanding of IT world & how I managed to co-relate it to monitoring domain. Excited for the first blogging experience, in my 14 years of IT journey…thanks to BMC.
All the content in this blog are of my personal knowledge/opinion, need not align with that of BMC.
