What customers require is assistance on how the product integrates to deliver a service. Not some legal mumbo jumbo. Any tool, any method would be an improvement than the current status quo which is not working.

Thanks for the link to your article. I write the manuals for products, rather than SOPs for an IT department. However, as I'm documenting the BMC Remedy IT Service Management applications, your posts about problem management will help me better understand the Problem Manager's concerns.
