Bio
John Albee is the
Director of Mainframe Solutions at BMC. Previously he was the Director
of Product Management at BMC and was focused on DB2 and IMS tools and
utilities. He joined BMC in May of 2002.
Prior to joining BMC, John was a co-founder of a high tech company
called AFK Strategies located in Austin, Texas. He was VP of Sales
& Marketing and the acting CTO attempting to bring a web-enabled
information retrieval and classification solution into the economic
development industry.
He spent a year with Pervasive Software as Director of Marketing and
Product Mgmt for this $50m. The majority of John’s career was with
IBM. He started his technology career in the field with IBM in 1979 and
over his 22 years had positions focused on hardware and software from
Mainframes to distributed. After 10 years in the technical realm, John
entered Marketing and Product Mgmt for IBM where he held brand
management, product management, divisional strategist and numerous
leadership and management positions in both server and software
groups.
