Some miscellaneous news and thoughts on Cardspace/Information Cards
Bob Blakely of the Burton Group has a great wrap up of the recent Catalyst User Centric Interop. Gerald Beuchelt points out that this is actually the second interop for this technology.

Paul Madsen disagrees with the statement that the event demonstrated an "Identity Metasystem". Paul makes a good point that the event only demonstrated interoperability between different implementations of the same specification (i.e. Information Cards) and did not demonstrate interoperability between different specifications. But I am not even sure how to define what constitutes an Identity System much less what constitutes an Identity Metasystem, so I am not going make a statement about whether we demonstrated one or not. Besides, I already opted out.

Regardless, I think it was an important milestone. The next logical steps should be to demonstrate interoperability with OpenID, SAML, and Liberty technologies.

Mike Jones has links to an updated version of the Microsoft Information Card Deployment Guide on his blog.

So far I have three installments in my series on quick wins with Information Cards:

Information Card Win #1 - Easy First Time Visit Personalization
Information Card Win #2 - Two Factor Authentication
Information Card Win #3 - Alternate Authentication
